What is the "Spotlight Theory" ?

The spotlight theory is the idea you should focus the spotlight and attention on the reader. 

You do this by using words like "YOU" instead of "I" - 

You can write the same copy/tell the same stories and just replace the words to keep the spotlight on the reader. 


"I know how to help people lose 50 pounds and I'll can teach it."


"You can lose 50 pounds if you work with me. You'll know exactly what you need to do."

"Understanding the spotlight theory can be a game changer in your business. Your copy will feel less saley. You'll connect more with the reader and your customers will buy."


"I have used this technique in my business. My customers really responded and I got more sales."


YOUR audience will connect more if you speak to them. Don't talk about yourself. Most people are more interested in themselves. So talk to them.

How To Make a "Promo" Video To Sell Your Fitness Product

What is a "Promo Video" ? 

A "Promo Video" is a video that sells your product for you. 

The goal is to create a video that a person can watch and take action to purchase. 

Here is the system we use to create our promo videos that well our products. 

1. Introduction and Credibility Statement - Keep it short and powerful - 2-3 sentences and a statement of authority. 

2. Benefits of the Product Service - this is REALLY the transformation you provide. What is your magic pill...after they take it...they will be transformed into what? When you describe your product...sell the vacation. 

3. Core Components of the Product/Service - Don't spend too much time here. The goal is to basically say, "Don't worry about the details - you'll get your transformation" - using different words. The longer your talk about the "stuff" that is in your course/training or product - the less likely people are to buy. 

They don't care about the "stuff" - they want to hear about the transformation.

What is "Tent Pole" Marketing?


Black Friday is a tent pole for sales. Christmas is a tent pole for sales.

In Fitness - January 1st(new years) is a tent pole for sales. 



A "tent pole" is a spike in sales. Throughout the year - different niches have different tent poles...

As a business - you need to KNOW YOUR TENT POLES and plan promotions around them. 

When you take a look at your year - try to have at least 1 promotion per month. If there is a tent pole in that month - shape your marketing plan around the best time people are buying. 

In your business - your birthday could be a tent pole. We have a client who does flash sales on her birthday and made over $12,000 with 2 emails.  She ALSO does a flash sale on her ASSISTANTS birthday and made over $8,000 with 2 emails.
